What are the new regulations regarding aesthetic hyaluronic acid injections?

Hyaluronic acid: French health authorities are strengthening regulations by making a medical prescription mandatory (Published 05/31/2024).

Since May 31, 2024, a decree from the Minister of Health has strictly regulated the dispensing of medical devices and injectable products containing hyaluronic acid.

This decree aims to better protect the public from illegal injections. For several years, an informal market has developed where non-healthcare professionals perform injections for cosmetic purposes.

The new decree stipulates that injectable hyaluronic acid devices are now available only upon medical prescription for patients, and for professional use by doctors and dental surgeons.

Who can now prescribe hyaluronic acid-based medical devices?

Only doctors can now prescribe these devices for medical or cosmetic purposes. Dental surgeons are authorized to prescribe them for medical purposes only.

The decree also stipulates that while these devices are still dispensed in pharmacies, they can only be provided to the public upon presentation of a prescription from a doctor or dentist.

Consequently, individuals wishing to use injectable hyaluronic acid must consult a qualified professional authorized to perform these injections.

The pharmacy will refuse and cancel any order placed by a non-medical professional, an unverifiable professional, or any order outside of the legal retail framework.

Additional Regulations Applied to FRANCE-HEALTH

For France, the sale of:

  • All injectables listed on France-Health.
  • All hyaluronic acid presented in vials for mesotherapy.

Will be strictly restricted to physicians for medical or cosmetic use and to dentists for medical use.

I have a VAT number, how can I enter it?

When creating a delivery address, fill in the "Company" field. The VAT field will then appear for intra-European VAT exemption eligibility.
If you validate an order with an invalid VAT number, we must cancel and refund the order so you can place it correctly by leaving the VAT field blank.

The delivery address must match your official company information.

May I have a tax refund?

No, tax refunds (tax-free shopping) are only available for non-EU residents who purchase goods physically inside the EU. However, you can order without VAT if you have a valid intra-community VAT number.

What if my parcel is damaged?

Our products are securely protected. Parcels are delivered against signature; if the box is damaged, it is vital that you refuse the delivery or clearly note the damage on the delivery slip. This allows us to open a claim with the postal services to refund or replace broken goods.

What are the payment methods?

Available payment methods are credit card (Visa, CB, Mastercard, etc.) and bank wire transfer.
We do not accept checks or PayPal.
